This year’s Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) walk along the Promenade was an unforgettable experience with our White Rock Pride Society and White Rock community coming together for an incredible afternoon of walking and fundraising, demonstrating our commitment to those in need!
The results of our team’s hard work?
🏆 $19,400+ raised by the White Rock Pride Society
🏆 2nd highest fundraising team in White Rock
🏆 #29 out of 6,400+ teams across Canada
A very special shout-out to Ernie, who not only led the fundraising efforts for our team but also became the top individual fundraiser across all Coldest Night of the Year White Rock participants, raising over $12,000!
In total, the White Rock community raised $228,840 for Sources, placing 3rd in Canada! These funds will directly help our neighbours facing homelessness, hunger, and poverty!
Why We Walk
As CNOY White Rock/South Surrey community ambassador Marc Burchell shared in a news release:
“This is what Coldest Night of the Year is all about – experiencing the challenging circumstances many of our community members live in every single day. I am incredibly grateful for the support we have received to serve individuals fighting harsh realities, especially when homelessness across Canada has increased 32 per cent over 2020-23, with Surrey witnessing a 64 per cent rise.”
The impact of these funds cannot be overstated. The money raised will go directly to Sources, helping to provide essential support and services for those experiencing homelessness, hunger, and poverty in our community.
