About Doug and the Slugs
For more over 40 years, Doug and the Slugs have been one of Canada’s most beloved and entertaining bands. Formed in Vancouver in 1977, the group became known for their infectious blend of pop, rock, R&B and humour, earning a devoted following with chart-topping hits including Too Bad, Making It Work, Day By Day, and Tomcat Prowl.
Following the passing of legendary frontman Doug Bennett in 2004, the band took time away before returning with renewed energy and a commitment to preserving Doug’s musical legacy. Today, original members John Burton, Simon Kendall, Steve Bosley, Wally Watson and Richard Baker, alongside vocalist Ted Okos, continue to deliver the unforgettable songs, musicianship and high-energy performances that made Doug and the Slugs a Canadian music icon.
