Fostering inclusivity, community, and support for the White Rock / South Surrey 2SLGBTQ+ community is at the heart of everything we do at the White Rock Pride Society. Which is why we were honoured to provide a $15,000 donation to Alex House’s Rainbow Connections Youth Space Program.
This initiative is a valuable support system for 2SLGBTQ+ youth in South Surrey and White Rock, providing a safe, welcoming environment to build connections, receive support, and express themselves freely.
We hope our donation will make a lasting impact, helping this incredible program continue to thrive and serve the young people in our 2SLGBTQ+ community.
What Makes Rainbow Connections Special?
Rainbow Connections provides a vital drop-in space for 2SLGBTQ+ youth aged 13 and up. This weekly program fosters a sense of belonging and offers a variety of activities, including open discussions, art workshops, and social events. It provides a safe space where youth can connect with peers who understand their journey.
In addition to the weekly program their annual Pride Prom is a summer celebration planned by 2SLGBTQ+ youth for their peers. This magical event is a night filled with dancing, great food, and self expression—completely free of charge.
Beyond programming, Rainbow Connections also provides tangible support, such as snacks, food, and bus tickets to ensure safe transportation home.
For youth interested in joining Rainbow Connection, there’s no need to register. Snacks, supplies, and transportation support are provided to ensure accessibility.
